about Martin

Martin Kohout has quickly become one of the most recognized names in Czech fashion.

A self-taught designer, he graduated from a secondary school specializing in photography and film. He first gained attention for his opulent, dreamlike gowns, which have since become a favorite among actresses and artists for red carpet events.

His deep passion for—and knowledge of—cinema is unmistakable. Kohout draws inspiration for his collections from film and fine art, a recurring theme in his work.

This is evident in collections such as Orlando (2019), Alice in Wonderland (2022), Frida (2023), and Piano (2024).

He has showcased his work at Designblok and Prague Fashion Week, where he won the Van Graaf Junior Talent competition on his first attempt. Kohout was also nominated for the Czech Grand Design Award in the Fashion Designer category in 2020, 2023, and 2024.

In recent years, he has alternated between artistically driven collections of sophisticated gowns and more accessible capsule collections designed for everyday wear. He has also become a sought-after local designer of wedding dresses. For Kohout, the key to his journey lies in personal communication with his clients.
